China Concepts Stock is a set of stock of companies whose assets or earnings have significant activities in mainland China. The People's Republic of China is undergoing major financial transformation, and many leading mainland-based companies have chosen to list themselves overseas to gain access to foreign investor capital. Currently, there are China Concepts Stocks listed on several major stock exchanges around the globe, including the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx), Singapore Exchange (SGX), New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), NASDAQ, NYSE MKT (formerly known as the American Stock Exchange), London Stock Exchange (LSE), Euronext, and the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE).

Poor condition in China capital market

The influx into US markets of the small and newly created Chinese companies was due to their facing serous obstacles to raising funds in China. Many non-state-owned Chinese companies have limited access to domestic bank financing and the rigourous merit form of regulation carried out by the Chinese Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) foreclosed most infant firms from their home country equity markets. Although the still infant ChiNext market, launched by the CSRC in 2009, relaxes some restrictions for small firms to be accepted for trading on that market, many companies with operations in China which are not formed under the laws of the PRC are not available for listing on ChiNext or for that matter on the Shanghai or Shenzhen Exchanges.
